Meet-a-Geek

Here at FreeGeek Chicago we love our volunteers. They are the reason we are still operating and their dedication makes our lives a lot easier. With that in mind, we have created a segment on our website we like to call Meet-a-Volunteer. In this segment we will feature one of our volunteers every month. We hope you get to know them as we have.

Hello again Geeks!

Women have fought hard to obtain recognition in the workplace environment for many years now. There is still lots to do, specially in the science and medicine sectors. However, this does not mean that there are not women today that aren't excelling in these fields. The advent of the computer age has brought us Linux. And, Linux has brought us a slew of new faces on the map, including some very recognizable women. Today, we celebrate the Women of Linux.
